College campuses will soon be seeing digital vending kiosks arriving in their bookstores. The National Association of College Bookstores (NACS) has selected several schools to set up the kiosks which will initially be for burning movies on DVD for purchase and rentals. However, movies are just the beginning for this movement. With digital textbooks becoming more popular, the kiosks could soon serve as a method to get textbooks and class materials into the hands of students. If anything, the NACS is trying to find a way to keep college students as their customers while competing with Kindle and on-line options for buying books.
