Scott Peters, a Managing Director with The Jordan, Edmiston Group, Inc. (JEGI) represents a wide array of consumer and business publishing, information and online media companies in a mergers and acquisitions advisory capacity. Mr. Peters brings to clients a comprehensive understanding of the media and information industries, with extensive sell-side, buy-side and advisory experience. Since joining JEGI in 1997, Mr. Peters has played an instrumental role in many of the firm's signature transactions.
Mr. Peters' recent engagements include the representation of:
- Great Hill Partners in the sale of Action Media to CFW Media;
- Gold Standard in its sale to Elsevier;
- The Governance Institute in its sale to National Research Corporation;
- Vibe magazine in its sale to Wicks Group of Companies;
- Spin magazine in its sale to The McEvoy Group;
- Yoga Journal in its sale to Active Interest Media;
- CNET in its sale of Computer Shopper magazine to SX2 Media Labs;
- Strategic Publications in its sale to SV Investment Partners;
- Evanta in its sale to dmg world media;
- Active Interest Media in its purchase of Yachting Promotions;
- Stone Canyon Entertainment in its purchase of Vacation Connections;
- Asian Venture Capital Journal in its sale to Incisive Media;
- AdSpace Networks in a $20 million capital raise; and
- Halyard Capital and Steelpoint Capital Partners in their purchase of WMI.
Mr. Peters offers a unique blend of traditional investment banking and direct operating experience. Before rejoining JEGI, Mr. Peters was the co-founder of AngelSociety, LLC, an information, communications and transaction company serving the early stage investing or 'angel' investing market. Prior to his initial employment with JEGI, Mr. Peters was with Veronis, Suhler & Associates, where he served as director of research and later, director of business development for the investment bank and private equity fund.
Mr. Peters currently serves as a Media & Entertainment Sector advisor to The New York City Investment Fund ("NYCIF"). NYCIF was founded by Henry R. Kravis and is a $100 million, New York City-based private fund with a civic mission.
Mr. Peters earned an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BBA from Babson College.
