Exhibit Spotlights Real Mad Men & Women of Madison Avenue
We asked Cooper, who formerly was editor of min Magazine, if she had a favorite ad in the show. Her pick: Charles Barkley for Nike touting the slogan: “The meek may inherit the Earth—but they won’t get the ball.” Indeed. Those honored include Julian Koenig (Volkswagen), Bill Bernbach (Avis Car Rental) and Mary Wells Lawrence (Benson & Hedges)—not a meek soul among them. All the agency people honored in the exhibit have been inducted in The One Club’s Creative Hall of Fame; The One Club sponsored the exhibit. The exhibit will run through Sept. 26 at the New York Public Library, 188 Madison Avenue at 34th St. What is your favorite ad? Take our poll!
