"It's so difficult to find good Polenta," we mention to chef Scott Conant at the opening of his new Scarpetta restaurant hosted by Architectural Digest June 11. We had just polished off a delicious taste of Polenta heaven and caught the award-winning chef long enough to pass along our compliments. "No, it¹s not hard...you just need to come here!" Conant assurance was enough to make us stay all night and try out the other tasty dishes he has on his menu including muscle pasta and bread with prosciutto and ricotta baked inside.

The new space designed by S. Russell Groves is a picturesque and very Tuscan setting for the light Italian cuisine. A retractable skylight allowed us to sample Conant¹s delicacies alfresco and the blue sky seemed to be braced by rustic, exposed beams. Hard to say if guests were more excited about the stylish digs, gourmet treats, free wine or the complimentary copies of Architectural Digest, which were quickly scooped up for train rides home.
