Maxim Heats Up the Dominican

The popular guy's mag Maxim has really gone south...all the way to the Domincan Republic to open the luxurious Maxim Bungalows on Confresi Beach. And the Kobe Club in Midtown was packed with supporters and readers, including our most favorite TV detective Chris Meloni (that's Stabler to you) and a few other actors, including Joe Pantoliano and Steve Schirripa of the Sopranos as well as Chazz Palminteri. Singer Natasha Bedingfield and actor Matthew Modine rounded off the unexpected yet expected guests.

Derek Elliot and crew skipped over the formalities of a speech or presentation and kept it strictly casual, which we have to admit we really loved just as much as hearing the DJ sneak Grandmaster Flash's "White Lines" into the otherwise generic mix of mingling music. But Maxim opening Bungalows though? What's next for the brand-aholics, Maxim vodka? Or a Maxim game-day lazy boy chair? Please guys, don't go changing on us TOO much! The last thing we need is an everyman's Trump...
